Abstract

Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book author, is left heartbroken after the death of his beloved dog, Hanako. One day, while staring absentmindedly at a pink mushroom growing in his garden, it suddenly begins to move—and to his surprise, it turns out to be a strange little dog with one ear made of mushroom: Mushroom Pup. As they begin living together, this gentle creature, who offers his affection so purely, slowly warms Hotaru’s frozen heart, bringing comfort and healing into his quiet life.

A manga artist from Osaka Prefecture, she made her debut in 2010. Her representative work, "Mushroom Pup," won the Bronze Ryusho Award at the 7th Ryujin Awards. The work was adapted into a TV anime series in October 2024, with a total of 12 episodes broadcast.
