Author’s Information

President of the National Center for Child Health and Development. Born in 1953. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tokyo, he worked as a pediatric assistant at Tokyo Metropolitan Kiyose Children's Hospital and the University of Tokyo Hospital, a researcher at Harvard Boston Children's Hospital, and a lecturer in pediatrics at the University of Tokyo Hospital branch. In 2000, he became a professor of pediatrics at the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine. He has held his current position since 2012. He has also held important positions such as president of the Japanese Pediatric Society. In his private life, he is the father of three boys.
