Abstract

A mid-life (“around fifty”) comic essayist, Hiroe Uda, is busy every day with her husband, two children—one in junior high and one in elementary school—housework, childcare, and work.
Now in her late forties, she realized she was still carrying her post-pregnancy weight and that losing weight had become even harder. Her blood pressure was rising, and health concerns were growing.

So she decided to take action!
Under the guidance of the highly sought-after diet coach Koichiro Nogami, whose appointments are nearly impossible to get, she took on the “Three-Day Monk Diet.”
No hard work or self-denial required! You can eat rice, sweets, even fried foods.
What you need is “a system” and “a bit of ingenuity.”

By losing weight in a healthy way, her self-esteem improved, and her life changed.

Hiroe Uda
Manga artist, illustrator, and comic essayist. Born in 1976, she lives with her husband, son, and daughter. She made her debut with "Yumeoi Fuufu" (published by Media Factory). At the 2009 Japan Media Arts Festival, her work "Last Chill: The Last Child of the Showa Era" was selected as a recommended work by the jury.

Koichiro Nogami
Therapist and diet coach. He opened Balance Osteopathic Clinic Nakahara in 2015. He realized that "many people suffer from obesity as much as pain," and began providing diet advice. Word of mouth quickly spread that "if you go to that clinic, you'll be cured and lose weight!", leading to appointments becoming hard to come by. The 90-day online diet program has a 92.3% success rate for participants. He has treated a total of 30,000 people and provided diet advice to over 1,000 people.
