A very lazy king caught a cat that had a magic acorn that could turn into anything when you chanted "grind, grind." The king took the magic acorn from the cat, drove everyone out of the castle, and lived alone, doing as he pleased. "The Mysterious Candy Shop" (Kin no Hoshisha) won the Japan Picture Book Award Reader's Award. "What a Good Poo Today" (Suzuki Publishing) won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award Picture Book Award. Five of his books, "Chu Chu" (Suzuki Publishing), "Shinigami-san" (Ehon no Mori), "Daddy Returns: Ultraman" and "Daddy is Ultra Seven" (Gakken), and "You Look Tasty" (Poplar Publishing), won the Kenbuchi Picture Book Village Grand Prize. "You Look Tasty" was released nationwide as a movie in 2010 (this data was published at the time the book was published).
