Abstract

Bizarre Plants are not a classification of plants, but a common name for plants with peculiar shapes and unique evolutionary paths. Included are well known representatives of the caudex, pachypodium, and tuberous root shrubs, from agave to platycerium, a collector’s edition featuring information on 155 summer varieties. Particular attention is paid to rooting the Operculicarya pachypus, a well-known challenge for beginners. Under the direction of three specialists and following hydroponic methodologies, we opened experiments in March of 2019 and are testing theories for the best rooting methodologies.

Miniature flower artist “Miniature Rosy” Yukari Miyazaki
Miyazaki began sculpting her mini-creations after becoming enchanted with doll houses in 2002. Having a love for plants, she unveiled many flower-themed creations, and has gained a large fan base overseas as the “Miniature Flower Artist.” She is a member of the Japan Guild (Japan Miniature Artist Society).
