Abstract

“Mani-mani of the Sky” is the story of Mani-mani, an elephant who is good at drawing, and his keeper friend. It is a sad yet hopeful picture book that depicts how bonds and wishes can sustain the heart even in times of loss and loneliness. Illustrated with vibrant colors and gentle brushwork, the story's power will cross borders and touch many readers, from children to adults.

Born in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, she resides in Tokyo. She graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design. In addition to illustrating book covers, advertisements, calendars, and other media, she creates original picture books. Kunibu aims to create works that warm reader’s hearts and bring them quiet joy. Sora no Mani-mani (Mani-mani of the Sky) marks her debut as a picture book author.
